Line-in latency through headphones

$

When I use a mic or line-in there is latency when listening through headphones.

I've gone through drivers, settings, OS's, etc and I think I've narrowed it down to lacking a particular control through the interface.

From the Speaker icon in the tray, right-click, playback brings up Sound UI.

Select Speakers and Properties - Levels tab

On other machines I have the Audio output, as well as individual selections for Microphone, Line-in, etc - depending on the configuration of the machine.  On my Inspiron 1545, I only have the main "Audio Output"

How do I get the other options available?

I suspect it's either an edit to the HDAudio.inf file or maybe a reg-hack.

Like I said, I've tried all kinds of drivers and settings and "Minimize Latency" FAQs.  I don't want to Minimize - I want to REMOVE it.  And I believe this control allows the line-in signal to by-pass all of the drivers and eliminate any latency and pipe it directly to the line-out/monitor.

Thanks

Waves MaxxAudio Pro

Hello, I have a problem with Waves MaxxAudio Pro on my recently purchased Inspiron 15 5000 Series laptop.

The audio on my laptop sounds very strange and is poor quality, I realised it was the MaxxAudio equaliser, however everytime I disable it in the Dell Audio menu it turns back on as soon as I close the window. Needless to say, this is extremely irritating.

How do I disable this feature permanently?

It's very strange, I have a Dell Inspiron 15 i5559-4682SLV Signature Edition Laptop and I can set up my mic. I can use my mic in other programs such as Skype. I can even run the setup to get Cortana to understand my voice and I'm heard. But as soon as I go to use Cortana, she can't hear me. I can't make heads or tales of this.

Hi,

I have Dell XPS 13 with windows 10. after 6 months of using the sound driver stopped working.

No automatic switching between loudspeakers and headphone after upgrading an Inspiron N411z (Intel i5) to Windows 10

After two days of unsuccesful attempting to install Windows 10 (from Windows 7) the newest Windows OS software installed correctly on my Inspiron N411z with Intel i5 (and upgraded to a SSD HD two years ago). BUT, now it does not switch automatically between audio coming from the build-in speakers to a headphone connected with the headphone socket visa versa. The Original Smartaudio software interfered with Windows 10 and does not offer a new windows 10 safe version. After having read various advices I de-installed and de-activated the Original Smartaudio from my laptop. Default audiodrivers is now the microsoft audio driver. I can switch between speaker-sound and headphone sound "manually" by going to sound settings and setting either speakers or headphone as the standard. But this is annoying. Anybody a solution to get the switching done automatically like before?

Greetings

Gerard

HDMI sound

I have connected my Latitude E6500 running Windows 10 Professional to a Samsung TV using an HDMI cable with a DisplayPort-to-HDMI connector.  I am using this arrangement to view streaming video from places like YouTube and Amazon Prime, and it works well most of the time.

But occasionally I will loose the sound, and the only way I have found to get it back is to re-boot.  Has anyone else had this experience?

HI All,

I have Dell XPS L502X laptop purchased in Oct 11 which came pre-installed with Win7. Last year i upgraded it to Win 8.1 Pro OS.

Post that, I'm having issues with the JBL system. Thoguh the Front speakers are working perfectly, the JBL subwoofer on the back are not working. I have installed the Realtek HD Audio driver (with Waves Maxxaudio) but couldn't get the Soundblaster driver for Win 8.1 for this model.

What do i do now? i want by Subwoofer to work

Latitude E6420 audio volume is very low and tinny

I'm getting only minimal sound from the internal speakers of my Latitude E6420. The volume is very low, even though it's set to the highest level. Also, the sound is tinny. It's similar to what you hear from headphones at a distance; like when someone near you is listening to headphones at a high volume, or if you take off your headphones/ earplugs while the audio is still playing.

Whenever I actually use headphones, the sound is great, but with the internal speakers the audio is practically nonexistent.

I've set the internal speakers as my default speakers, I've adjusted the loudness equalization, and I've reinstalled the audio drivers. I've even tried wiggling a toothpick inside the speaker jack, but nothing has resolved this issue.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

My audio jack is 'indented' , the speakers still work, but when I plug earphones in there is no sound. Help please.

Dell XPS 2016 (9350) - Realtek Audio Driver (V6.0.1.7829) malfunction ****HIGH ISSUE****

Hi Team,

I just purchased Dell XPS 9350. Whenever I do full shutdown then boot, always video, audio (both online and local videos) via any browser, VLC, movies & tv app are not playing and its keep loading. It will resolve once I restart the system, so its consistantantly happening after every full shutdown then boot.

I found that it's because of Realtek HD Audio driver  (V6.0.1.7829) and system working perfectly after rolling back to HD Audio Device default driver. Please fix this.

I I have an alienware 15 r2 whose right speaker is damaged and doesn't work. My warranty is still valid, but only in the U.S, and I'm not in the U.S right now.

I checked at the local Dell service center, and they don't even have replacement speakers

Can I have the speakers shipped internationally? What choices do I have to get my laptop fixed?

Suggest which Audio drivers would work best

Hello friends,

I was searching a name in this website www.babynology.com/meaning-neil-m1.html , which has a facility to listen the pronunciation of the name, but unfortunately I am not able to listen it, while cross checking I found that no audio is working in my laptop.

Or is there a problem with the site or with my drivers?

Please suggest me the related audio drivers which can make it work. The model of my laptop is Dell Inspiron 15 3558 (Z565106HIN9) Notebook

Audio Recording

I have a Dell Inspiron 3521 laptop with Windows 10, and I want to do some audio recording.  The problem is that I'm getting no sound input either from the internal microphone, or the external.

I think the Realtek sound driver update is to blame, and the settings are misconfigured, since it did work before.  Is there a problem with Windows 10, or perhaps the drivers?

How can I repair this?

Bluetooth speaker shows paired and connected, but it's not working

$

I have a Dell Inspiron 5555-15 and a Samsung HW-J250 Soundbar.

I have had no trouble pairing and connecting the soundbar to my old Dell Inspiron N5030-15, but I have not been able to get it to work with my new laptop.

It shows paired and connected on the Bluetooth connection screen on the lapotop as well as on the soundbar, but the sound is still coming through the laptop speakers. The speaker icon on the laptop shows it's still connected to the Realtek (laptop) speakers. I went into Audio manager and changed the default audio output to the Soundbar. That changed what the icon said (to the soundbar) but it's still playing through the laptop speakers.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
