When I use a mic or line-in there is latency when listening through headphones.
I've gone through drivers, settings, OS's, etc and I think I've narrowed it down to lacking a particular control through the interface.
From the Speaker icon in the tray, right-click, playback brings up Sound UI.
Select Speakers and Properties - Levels tab
On other machines I have the Audio output, as well as individual selections for Microphone, Line-in, etc - depending on the configuration of the machine. On my Inspiron 1545, I only have the main "Audio Output"
How do I get the other options available?
I suspect it's either an edit to the HDAudio.inf file or maybe a reg-hack.
Like I said, I've tried all kinds of drivers and settings and "Minimize Latency" FAQs. I don't want to Minimize - I want to REMOVE it. And I believe this control allows the line-in signal to by-pass all of the drivers and eliminate any latency and pipe it directly to the line-out/monitor.
Thanks
