Hello,

18th May 2016 I received a new gaming laptop Alienware 17 R3 that is now driving me crazy. The laptop has OS Windows 10 Home 64-bits, no updates made when I have the problem.

The problem: Friday 27th May 2016 at night, suddenly when I was playing World of Warships, I started to hear distortion in my right headphone, this day I didn´t pay much attention. Saturday 28th May 2016, I tested speakers and I can hear distortion in right speaker but only in some frequencies and more noticiable at high volume. I have Sound Blaster recon3di, if I test a cinema sound, I can hear it clearly, the problem is with sounds such as Windows and high pitch sounds, I hear an awful distortion in right speaker, is like when a sound is too loud and produce vibrations. Is the same if I use headphones and internal speakers, I have the same problem using both.

I updated all the drivers, the last ones in Dell website, in respect of audio drivers, I tried many times, unsuccessful. I called today to customer support and told me to send the computer to repair, they will evaluate if its software related or hardware related. I know I am unable to solve the problem by myself but at least I want to know, do you think is hardware or software related problem?

Whenever i use skpe it just doest work properly. distortion comes, otherwise audio in every mode is very good my model is Dell 560

I have a Dell inspiron 3521 laptop which I have been using nearly 2 and half years, but from yesterday onwards when I plugged the headset it is not recognized by the OS. When I rotate the jack of the headset it gets detected. when I rotate it further again it gets undetected and detected. Once it is detected It works fine. How to fix this, is this a hardware problem

Hey,

I want to play Assassin's creed Freedom cry game.The minimum size of the VRAM should be 1024MB.I see that the current VRAM size is 128 MB. I tried to change it using setup. I see that I can't change it manually. Is there any other way to deal with this ? Is there any software that might help me ?.

I am trying to use a Bluetooth speaker with my Latitude E5450, running Windows 7. (The speaker connects and plays with my android phone just fine) I have turned on my bluetooth to the computer, I scan for a device. The speaker tower shows up as a headset on the Computer, i add the device. But the device has no information on my computer. under services for bluetooth, it is just blank. I have tried deleting it and reinstalling several times, no change.  

any suggestions?

Every since windows 10 upgrade i have been having issues with my audio. When i start a video for the first time i will hear crackling and poping noise then it will catch up after i pause the video and play again.  Then the audio slowly goes out of sync.  At first i thought that were my speakers, but it was happening over headphones as well.  I tried the latest version of driver along with switching to the windows 10 generic audio drivers.  Anyone else having issues with this?

I am losing sound from the speakers after unplugging head phones. In the past I've been able to fix the issue but old age has clearly gotten the better of me and I cannot recall how to fix the issue.

Hi guys

I have an old laptop Latitude E6500 and a docking station DELL Pr03x. The microphone port doesn't work in dock. Headphones port in dock is OK. Mic and headphone phort in laptop are OK too.

Hi guys,

My external mic - a JBL synchros e40bt which works great in other computers - doesn't work with the Inspiron 15 7559-A20 that I bought today, even after updating drivers, checking Dell's Audio software, selecting "this is a microphone" option when plugging in, running Dell's diagnostic program, checking if "Realtek" is showing by the device name, etc.

Can you please help? Such a bad experience with such an expensive computer.

Hi there!

I've got a single jack headset that I plugged into a Dell Inspiron of some time with Windows 10 installed. Back when I had Windows 7, every time I plugged an audio device into the jack it would pull up a list of different audio devices so I could choose which one I was using. Does this exist in Windows 10? How do I find it?

I've seen lots of posts about audio jack issues but none with my system.  I have an AlienWare 15 with Windows 10.  It won't detect the 3.5mm audio jack.  I have the Creative Sound Blaster Recon3Di driver, states it is up to date.  Tried uninstalling it an rebooting but it seems to stay installed.  When I have headphones plugged in and try to detect disabled and disconnected devices it doesn't show anything.  I can get USB headphones to work but really just want to be able to plug into the headphone jack!

Dear Admin,

 

Please help me how to fix my Alienware laptop. I've been experiencing cracking sound everytime I play music or playing games. It sounded like the speaker is somehow damage or crack. I have done all the fix and tweaks from alienware support. even reinstalling all the sound drivers. And finally I've tried to refresh my PC. But the problem still occur.

 recently bought a Dell latitude E6420 i5-2520M 8GB and I am experiencing a very annoying issue with the speakers.

The sound coming from the speakers worked until I plugged in the headphones jack into the computer for the first time - when I unplugged the headphones internal speakers stop to work completely.

What I have tried so far with no success:

• Uninstall and reinstall windows audio/sound drivers
• Tried Realtek drivers
• Disabled headphones
• Recovery and reinstall Windows 10

What is strange is that every time I uninstall and reinstall the sound drivers the speakers start to work again until i plug the jack of the headphones and again speakers stop to work. Any Idea?

Please let me know what you need to know about my computer to better understand the problem and I will amend the question accordingly.

This happened once before.

I somehow got it back by reapplying the IDT drivers.

However, now seems as though I can't get those drivers to install (error message is hardware not supported by drivers, which it was before and working). Within the device manager, when attempting to update drivers, error comes up saying that the "co-installer" needs to do something.

Any thoughts?

I have a Dell XPS 9333 laptop that works through a Dell (Displaylink) 3G Hub. I'm running Windows 10 and have the latest Displaylink software (7.9) loaded, yet when I connect extension speakers (that work on other computers) I only still hear sound through the laptop and not the extension speakers that are plugged into the hub.

I have also ran all the various diagnostic tests supplied by Dell & Windows

Anytime I play music/videos I keep hearing static/buzzing noise. It doesn't happen all the time but it happens intermittently. I have tried different headset and they all both work perfectly fine on other PC.

Is this driver issue or headphone jack is messed up?

Hi!

I have a problem with my mic jack. I have a Dell XPS 702 with a Realtek sound card. When I plug a mic into the mic jack, the system recognises the mic with the message „You just plugged a device into the audio jack“. A dialog box from Dell Audio apears also in which he ask me which device did i plug in (Line in, Mic in or Rear Speaker out).

But unfortunately I cant hear/record anything, whatever I select. When I go to Control panel/Sounds/Recording i have two devices, Microphone and Stereo mix, both cheked green. The internal mic works fine but the Stereo mix (or Line in if I choose it from the Dell Audio dialog box) doesn't, even if i choose it as default device.

Can anyone help me with this issue? Thanks in advance!
