Ever since I performed a clean install of Windows 10 on my Dell mobile Precision 4700, the built-in microphone no longer works. Although there is a driver available through Dell's website, the detailed information for that driver indicates that it's for Windows 8 and 8.1!? I have installed this driver a couple of times, but it doesn't fix the problem! Does there exist an updated IDT driver that is certified for Windows 10?

M4700 and K2100m - no hdmi audio

Recently I have swapped my K1000m to K2100m in my Dell M4700.
Installed latest Nvidia drivers ( 361.91 ) and everything seems to work except hdmi audio. In device management under audio there is no Nvidia audio. Have there only IDT HD Audio.
Probably thats why I have no option to select HDMI to pass audio there. On previous K1000m I was able to pass audio to my TV using the same TV and cable.
When installing Nvidia drivers there is no option to select Nvidia audio.
When trying to install GPU drivers drom dell site ( http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=GKPWX&fileId=3480937038&osCode=W764&productCode=precision-m4700&languageCode=en&categoryId=VI ) I have error stating that no appropriate hardware was found.
As far as I know this K2100m was taken out from M4800. Is there any way to install this Quadro audio and be able to pass audio via HDMI?

Headphone suddenly not detected anymore (Dell Latitude E5550)
Hi,
I got a new Dell Latitude E5550 laptop at work two weeks ago. Everything worked perfectly, except that the jack of my headphones seemed to pop out quickly, but that wasn't much of a problem. But now, since two days, when i plug in my headphones, the internal speakers of the laptop keep playing, and no sound is produced by my headphones. I checked the Sound Manager and it doesn't detect when i plug in my headphones.
I checked if an other type of headphone would work. Those were detected and worked perfectly. I also checked if my current headphones would work on my smartphone, and that worked as well. So the headphone (JVC) can't be the problem. The only problem seems to be the detection of this specific type of headphones by my laptop.
I already installed several new drivers and updates and checked the support page of Dell, but this didn't fix it. I just think its really strange that my headphones used to work on this laptop, but suddenly not anymore.
Can somebode please help?

AlienWare 17R3 USB Power Share port issue
After using my USB 2.0 professional-grade audio interface with its own power supply on my Alineware
USB 3 Power Share port, I find that I need to uninstall the USB ports and reboot for the sound function
to run. This seems strange to me since I have had no problems with this new machine. I wonder if
there
is an additional caution for this PowerShare USB port as far as what can or might not work. I tried the
audio interface on the adjacent port when having this problem with the PowerShare port and...the
device worked with sound (fully recognized). I would expect the ability to move 'stuff' around
between USB ports (when the p.c. is turned-off). Comments appreciated! Thanks.

XPS15 9550 sounds goes away when using headphones
hi,
the sound of the laptop works fine, but when I insert the headphones jack the sound goes away.
even if I remove the headphones the sound doesnt come back. I have to restart the computer to have the sound back (both with or without headphones).
any suggestion?

Dell XPS 13 9350 audio problem
I have had a XPS 13 9350 and love it except one thing. When i plug in headphones to the laptop I get really bad static on the audio that only goes away when I mute, this condition does not happen with the built in speakers. I have tried to update drivers and all of that and every time i update to the new realtek drivers or any realtek drivers for that matter my laptop will freeze when booting into windows 10. It freezes as soon as I try to use the notification center or start menu and I have to restart and then role back the audio driver to the stock high definition windows 10 driver to get things to work. For the short time I get teh realtek driver to work the audio on both the headphones and speakers is fine but the computer locks up and I am forced to role back the driver to the High definition windows 10 driver which causes the headphone static to come back.
I have had this problem from the beginning but have forgot about it since I really don't use headphones with it much but I forsee me using them more. I have even considered buynig a AudioQuest Dragonfly Dac in order to bypass the stock headphone jack to keep this from happening.

Alienware r2 13 wont recognize headphones.
Tried updating BIOS, the audio driver, uninstalling completely, then re-instaling, installing the creative software to see if that helps, made visible disable devices and disconnected. It just doesnt play through them only speakers, and the headphone don't come up on the playback devices, through the jack, no idea what to do now.

AC511 SOUND BAR,could not adjust sound volume with volume knob
I just got a new ac11 sound bar.
It is impossible to adjust sound volume using its volume knob.
But I am able to adjust sound volume with the windows volume control widget.
My OS is windows 7 .
I tried my ac511 on another laptop, the volume knob works well.So I guess the hardware is all right.
Could anyone help me with this?

Static noise from speakers (DELL i7559)
Sadly a static (never-ending) noise has been coming out of my laptop's speakers since yesterday (2-week old laptop).
-As far as I'm aware, there isn't any program that try to play any sound in the background.
-The static noise continues when another sound is played.
-The noise first appears after a while from when Dell logo appears, close to the sign-in part of windows 10.
-The noise stops as I plug in a headphone (i.e probably when the speakers are deactivated).
- As far as I’m aware, all the updates from Dell website is done, and no other update from any other source is done.
- I don’t know if it is related, but the issue started off after the day where my laptop was in the bathroom for a while (~ 10 mins).
Unfortunately I can't get a new unit as I bought the laptop from another country that I don't live in.

Edit: Forgot to mention that muting the sound and/or choosing the sound level to be 0 doesn't stop the noise. Also I feel like the speakers are hotter compared to other parts of the laptop. Should I not use it without headphones plugged in?
Edit 2: After I plug in headphones, the noise stops AFTER I select "Headphones" and press OK in auto-popping Dell Audio program.

Sound Echo in Headphones
I am using an Inspiron 15 3558. It is brand new (bought on 04/03/16) but I am having a sound issue when I use my Skullcandy earphones. When I watch videos online (which is quite often) I have echoing sound. This issue occurs when the video is just starting or if it has been paused at any point (such as buffering) and resumed. This echo only occur when I use headphones. I have used the HDMI output and the built-in speaker system and have not experienced the echo with those.
I have fund a temporary solution in unplugging the headphones and plugging them back in while continuing the play the video. However, this solution becomes a problem for those around me who are uninterested in my media while they themselves are watching and listening to their media.
Are there any more permanent solutions?

Really though, I'm having a weird issue with the headphone output, wherein periodically and at random the audio will suddenly drop down into a mono mix and lose what I would estimate to be about 6dB in volume. It's definitely not an issue with my headphones or speaker setup (I am an audio engineer with eight years' tech experience, so you're gonna have to trust me on that.)
I just turned off Dell's Waves-branded speaker enhancement and it hasn't happened since, but the problem by definition is unpredictable so I don't really know yet if that has solved it. If anyone has any ideas as to what might be causing this I would appreciate tips. This problem is not debilitating, but it certainly is irritating.
